A WORD FROM SHAMIRE
I write stories about faith, hope, and love for readers who seek such grounding in their own lives.
My love for writing began when I was a little girl, alongside my love of reading and storytelling. My father was what you would call a griot, and I inherited this gift from him. I loved when he told stories, some true, some imagined, and some a combination of both. He had a way of making you believe anything was possible, and that belief is something I carry into every story I write.
Writing became a safe place for me at an early age, a place to process, to find courage, and to feel at peace. It still is today.
My grandmother’s wall calendars inspired me, too, as a child, especially the artwork of Norman Rockwell. I would study those scenes and imagine the stories behind them, captivated by the power stories have to transport and comfort.
I hope you enjoy the stories that come from this place, and that somewhere within them, you find something that speaks to your own journey.
